Naoussa – City of Wine 2025 and Wine Tourism Conference

During the three-day event from January 24-26, 2025, organized by the Naoussa Winemakers Association under the title "Naoussa – City of Wine", as well as at the Wine Tourism Conference held on Saturday, January 25, under the theme "Investing in the Wine Tourism Experience of Imathia", the Mayor of the Heroic City of Naoussa, Mr. Nikos Koutsoyannis, participated.

These events took place at the Christos Lanaras Cultural Center and the VETLANS Hall. The Naoussa Winemakers Association celebrated the 10th anniversary of this significant event with a commemorative wine exhibition. What began as a modest initiative has now become one of the most important wine-related events in Northern Greece. Equally important was the Wine Tourism Conference, organized by Imathia Development Agency, which took place on Saturday, January 25, at the VETLANS Hall, under the theme "Investing in the Wine Tourism Experience of Imathia." In his brief address, Mayor Koutsoyannis emphasized: "The Municipality seeks to contribute with its own efforts through significant collaborations to create a model winemaking zone that will gain global recognition and serve as a benchmark for wine production and development." Deputy Mayor of Tourism and International Relations, Ms. Ia Hatziioannidou, added: "It would be remiss of me not to mention the patriarch of Xinomavro, the recently departed Mr. Yiannis Boutaris, who left his mark on the world of wine and beyond. As for the Municipality of Naoussa, the Tourism Department will always support the efforts of the Naoussa Winemakers Association and all initiatives aimed at promoting and developing wine tourism, in combination with gastronomy and culture, thereby offering an enriched travel experience. One such successful initiative we organized in September was the Naoussa Street Food Festival – Wine Edition, which, according to statistics from the organizing company, attracted 11,000 visitors to Naoussa over the three-day period." The conference was also attended by Deputy Mayor of Education, Youth, and Sports, Mr. Stelios Dagas, and Deputy Mayor of Culture, Ms. Vicky Daniilidou.
