Next, they will go to the school yard, where they will plant their own vines in the way they saw in the video. Before this is done, the students will be divided into groups.
<Dramatization>
With a dramatization of the song 'I enter the vineyard like a housewife', the children will 'tread' grapes observing and experiencing the whole process.
2nd Activity
In the 2nd activity, the students will watch three short videos about the derivatives of the vine. Specifically, in the first video they will watch information about wine, in the second they will see the way in which the grape turns into raisins and in the third they will learn how the homemade vinegar is made. When the screenings are finished, there will be a discussion by the plenary of the students on what they saw.
3rd Activity
<I make my own wine>
Students will be provided with all the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge about the wonderful world of wine.
The entire winemaking process from harvest to bottling will be presented. More specifically, it will be presented:
- the ripening course of the grapes,
- the harvesting process,
- the corrections to the grape mass,
- the process (course) of white and red vinification,
- the work and the care of the wines in the cellar of the winery,
- the stabilization of the wines and their bottling.
A tasting evening will be held
4th Activity
In the 4th activity, students will go to the kitchen area to prepare <mustokouloura> and dessert of the spoon <grape>. The children will completely take over the execution of the recipe, that is, someone will read the ingredients needed and someone else will do the execution. While the performance is being read, each child will add some material. Then, once the fermentation is done by the students, they will shape their pretzels and have them bake.
They will make dessert of the spoon < grape> with the help of two members of the Parents' Association & Guardians.
<Sense Training Game>
With eyes closed, students taste, describe and guess the product.
5th Activity
The students in the 5th activity will proceed with the distillation of alcohol. The experiment will be carried out in their classroom by the representatives of their groups; what they will need for the experiment are 2 test tubes, a candle, a metal base, a peg, red wine and a plastic tube.
Basically what the kids will do is put the wine in a tube and seal it airtight with a cork. On top of the cork will be a tube which will "connect" the two tubes together by sending to each other the water vapors that will be created by the boiling of the wine. These water vapors will be liquefied by being transferred to the second pipe resulting in the creation of alcohol, which the students will smell to determine this.
6th Activity
Transnationality
Exchange of views and discussion on the subject of grape harvest and wine production with students from other countries.
COMPLETION-ASSESSMENT:
Student reflection:
- Kids will show great enthusiasm as they have never had the experience of experiencing the traditional way of 'grape pressing',
- Children will acquire a lot of knowledge about the subject, cultivate their means of expression as well as enrich their vocabulary
Teacher reflection
