Event of DramOinognosia

An ambitious annual event, the “DramOinognosia” (Drama Wine Tasting), born in 2014, is organized by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, through the Regional Unit of Drama with wine as its protagonist.

The goal of this event is to strengthen the wider region as a Centre of Wine and Taste Culture, as it is a place with a rich cultural heritage of flavours and customs, but also a centre of wine and food businesses with nationwide visibility. During the last week of May, the Regional Unit of Drama celebrates, the wineries open their doors, festivals, concerts, experiential tasting workshops and scientific workshops are held in cooperation with the local University Department of Agricultural Biotechnology and Oenology, in order to connect production with education and science. Many volunteers participate in the event, mainly students of Oenology, but also cultural associations of the prefecture and all the Municipalities, professional bodies and, above all, the wine producers themselves who offer plentiful quality wine to the visitors.
